PAUL J. VOGEL

Paul J. Vogel is a multi-award-winning Finnish-American filmmaker currently living in Los Angeles. Before moving to Los Angeles in 2016 for MFA studies at USC School of Cinematic Arts, Vogel worked in Finland in both commercials as well as film.
He recently finished a feature documentary that was shortlisted for a Finnish Academy Award. The theatrically released documentary was one of the highest-rated documentaries of the year, scoring nearly exclusively 4 to 5-star reviews by all major newspapers and trades in Finland. It has also been released on Amazon Prime and iTunes.
Currently, he is developing several projects with partners both in Finland and the US.
Gene (Diedrich Bader), a fading super-hero unwilling to let go of his glorious past, struggles to latch onto his nocturnal alter-ego as his day-life plunges into a steep down-spiral. He loses his cover day job at a sad, dessert-only, food truck, and his ex-wife has taken in a younger, better-looking version of Gene!
One thing is for sure; being a superhero isn't what it used to be...
THE NAME OF THE GAME
Name of the Game is a comedic feature-length documentary about the team-up between the oldest Finnish indie game developer Housemarque and American arcade era legend Eugene Jarvis on their three year struggle to create a spiritual successor to one of Jarvis’ smash hit games of the 80’s, Robotron.
Theatrically released The Name of the Game was shortlisted for a Finnish Academy Award in the category of "Best Documentary".

A young, under-aged girl comes to a tattoo parlor to get her first tattoo from a shady skin-artist.
After its festival round, Tattoo's worldwide distribution rights were acquired by Shorts TV International.
